Job Description Summary Under limited direction with a high level of autonomy, leverages extensive experience and expertise to serve as a primary advocate for Chartwell Investment Partners, an investment boutique within Raymond James Investment Management (RJIM). This role acts as a key liaison between Chartwell and internal partners across RJIM, functioning as a subject-matter expert on Chartwell's investment strategies, process, market views, and portfolio positioning. The Client Portfolio Manager plays a central role in articulating investment insights, influencing client outcomes, and supporting business development efforts. Works independently on broad and complex assignments requiring originality and sound judgment, with appreciable latitude for unreviewed decisions and recommendations. Extensive interaction with internal stakeholders, financial advisors, institutional clients, and senior management is required. Ideally this position will be based in Berwyn (Philadelphia area), PA.
Job Description Responsibilities:
Acts as a primary external contact for clients across all tiers, responding to inquiries and delivering timely, high-quality insights. Partners with distribution teams to support and drive new business opportunities across intermediary and institutional channels. Develops compelling product narratives, positioning, and messaging tailored to Chartwell strategies. Assists in the creation of presentations, commentaries, and marketing materials. Coordinates with investment teams to support client meetings, due diligence requests, and ongoing communications. Participates in strategic initiatives related to product development, positioning, and marketing campaigns. Supports client service and reporting efforts as needed. Maintains deep knowledge of competitors and peer strategies, including differentiation in investment philosophy, portfolio construction, and performance outcomes. Represents Chartwell strategies in client meetings, finals presentations, and industry events. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge of:
RJ and RJIM working structure, policies, mission, and strategies. Fundamental concepts, principles, and practices used in the securities industry. Fundamental concepts, principles, and practices of relationship management. Financial markets and products, specifically fixed income. Fundamental understanding of return attribution analysis.
Skill in:
Interpreting and applying policies and procedures. Preparing management reports. Identifying trends and implementing appropriate corrective action. Operating standard office equipment and using required software.application.to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets.
Ability to:
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels including senior management. Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with shifting priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions. Balance conflicting resource and priority demands. Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives. Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Finance or related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the financial services industry. OR Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications:
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferable or ability to obtain within three years of hire Series 7 license (current or ability to obtain within three months of hire)
