Requirements Job Overview The Manager of Financial Aid Loans and Work-Study, under the general oversight of the Senior Associate Director, provides financial aid awarding and counseling services to current and prospective students, and their families, regarding financial aid processes, procedures and programs with a primary focus on the administration of the Federal Work-Study and private education loan programs. The position is responsible for understanding and communicating information about all federal, state, private, and institutional aid and work study programs. Additionally, this position will review and process financial aid applications and support financial aid programs and outreach initiatives. The Manager of Financial Aid - Loans and Work-Study will manage a large active caseload, process applications in a timely manner, counsel students, and administer dollars related to scholarship, loan, and work programs. Activities include detailed application review, audit, financial counseling, monitoring enrollment status and the review and understanding of emergency circumstances. As part of the application process, the Manager maintains financial aid records, updates student data, monitors status, and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and University or Law Center Policies. The Georgetown Law Financial Aid Office manages over $150M of grants, scholarships, loans and work-study per year. The Manager will cross-train across programs and provide primary and secondary support for various initiatives throughout the year. The Manager of Financial Aid Loans and Work-Study is responsible for our academic year and Summer Federal Work-Study programs ($1-1.5M annually),as well posting and reconciling private student loans (presently $2.5M, but rising to an expected $25M+) with the implementation of the 2025 federal loan changes. Work Interactions The Manager of Financial Aid Loans and Work-Study serves as a primary resource, and first point of contact, for Law Center students, parents, Faculty, Staff, as well as, external or university departments (including Law Registrar, Student Accounts, University Billing and Receivables, Law Academic Affairs, OPICS and Career Strategy) and Alumni. The Manager will be required to have face to face interaction with the community and communicate through multiple mediums. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Financial Aid and will assist with outreach to specific student groups, visitors and their families. The Manager receives general supervision from the Executive Director, the Assistant Dean, as well as the Associate Directors. This position assists in supervising tasks for the other counselors and/or clerical assistants. Requirements and Qualifications A bachelor's degree and financial counseling, customer service, and administrative experience 3-5 years of comparable financial aid experience is acceptable Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data, communicate clearly, and use independent and appropriate judgement with a diverse client population Must have a commitment to continuous quality improvement and customer service Must have a thorough understanding of federal, state, and financial aid programs Preferred Qualifications Experience with Banner, Formstack, Web applications, COGNOS, and higher education Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as Hybrid 3 Days. Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $44,022.00 - $73,406.80 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
