Job Description:
This is a banking position This senior-level role serves as the primary advisor and relationship manager for real estate investors, developers, and commercial real estate sponsors, overseeing transactions from initial prospecting through closing and ongoing portfolio management. The ideal candidate possesses deep commercial real estate expertise, formal credit training, strong business development skills, and extensive knowledge of construction, bridge, permanent, and land acquisition financing. Job Requirements Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial real estate clients, including investors, developers, and owner-operators. Generate new loan opportunities through networking, referrals, Centers of Influence (COIs), and market presence. Achieve commercial loan production, deposit gathering, and treasury management goals. Structure and negotiate complex CRE transactions, including acquisition, development, construction, bridge, and permanent financing. Analyze borrower financial statements, tax returns, global cash flows, and real estate project performance. Present credit requests and loan recommendations to Loan Committee and senior management. Partner with legal counsel to negotiate loan term sheets and documentation. Review appraisals, environmental reports, construction budgets, feasibility studies, and third-party due diligence reports. Monitor portfolio quality through annual reviews, covenant compliance, site inspections, and ongoing risk assessment. Identify and mitigate credit risks while maintaining sound underwriting standards. Support syndicated lending opportunities, loan participations, and capital market transactions when applicable. Cross-sell treasury management, deposit products, and other bank services to maximize client relationships. Maintain active involvement within the commercial real estate community and industry organizations. Mentor and coach junior relationship managers and lending professionals. Ensure compliance with all credit policies, banking regulations, BSA/AML requirements, and internal risk management standards. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. MBA, Master's in Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Investment, Finance, or related field preferred. Minimum 10 years of commercial real estate lending experience. Formal bank credit training required. Extensive experience with commercial real estate underwriting and credit structuring. Strong knowledge of construction lending, bridge financing, land acquisition, and permanent financing. Proven business development and relationship management track record. Experience presenting complex transactions to Loan Committee and executive leadership. Strong understanding of loan documentation, legal structures, and commercial real estate collateral. Experience with syndicated loans, participations, interest rate swaps, and hedging products preferred. Deep knowledge of the local commercial real estate market. NMLS registration required or ability to obtain prior to employment. Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and presentation skills.
