Vision Insurance Position Summary:
The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for originating residential 1st mortgage loans. The MLO originates 1st mortgage products including Conventional, FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA Rural Housing, Jumbo and Portfolio loan products. The MLO conducts interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, advise borrowers of product, pricing and loan program guidelines, and gather any additional required information. The MLO ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of mortgage loan programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions:
• Proactively solicit business from referral sources: realtors, builders, CPA's, attorneys, personal spheres of influence and affinity sources. Routinely participate in business development activities in the community and prospect for new business on a continual basis. Grow and maintain customer database via CRM technology. Enter complete/accurate customer information into the Loan Origination System. Must be able to quote accurate rates, closing costs and loan terms. Knowledge of conventional, government, jumbo and portfolio loan underwriting guidelines. Familiar with FHA and HUD guidelines. Product knowledge that focuses on a needs-based selling approach with the borrower. MLO will administer AUS (Automated Underwriting System) and must be able to analyze results. Ability to manage existing loan pipeline. Knowledge of processing, underwriting and closing procedures as well as federal lending regulations governing real estate lending. Successfully interacts with the lending staff, underwriters, and processors to aid in meeting closing deadlines. Follow all other instructions and perform other job-related duties, at the discretion of the Regional President.

Bachelor's Degree in related field or 2-5 years of experience within the business, accounting or financial services industry is preferred. Two to three years of Mortgage Loan Origination and/or sales experience. The ability to cross sell bank products with an emphasis on relationship banking is required. Knowledgeable in a wide range of Microsoft Office software applications. Proficient with applicable bank and mortgage systems.
Training:
Responsible for the timely completion of all required compliance training such has BSA, Information Security, and other job specific training as assigned.
BSA Compliance:
Complies as required with relevant Bank policies and procedures related to BSA, including capture of required CIP data and informing management and compliance staff of potential suspicious activities.
Additional Requirements:
This position is subject to SAFE Act Registration Requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all applicants for employment who will be engaged in residential loan mortgage originations (as defined by the SAFE Act) must register with the federal registry system and maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements. Failure to register successfully or to maintain a status in good standing under the SAFE Act will affect your eligibility for continued employment and may result in your immediate termination.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Professional office environment. While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to operate standard office equipment. The team member is frequently required to communicate and perceive. The position is primarily stationary and not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and requires sedentary work such as exerting up to 10 pounds of force 5% of the time and a negligible amount of force approximately 95% of the time.
