Job Description

Company Overview The Hometown Savings Bank is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service within its local community. Overview We are seeking a motivated Mortgage Loan Processor to join our team and help streamline the mortgage lending process. This vital role will processes mortgage, home equity, and consumer loan files in accordance with Bank guidelines, ensuring complete and accurate documentation from application through closing. This role also coordinates post-closing activities and funds approved loans by established closing deadlines. Responsibilities Provide customers with exceptional customer service and answer questions regarding the process, underwriting and closing of loans. Process mortgage, home equity, and consumer applications in a timely manner. Order title work, appraisals, private mortgage insurance, geocodes, flood certificates, verifications of employment/deposits, tax returns and any other required documentation. Coordinate with title companies and insurance agencies. Prepare documents for loan closings. Funding of closed loans and set up escrow accounts, if applicable. Perform loan maintenance within system. Reverse and/or repost payments. Setup and maintain preauthorized loan payment transactions. Process construction draws and insurance claims. Update weekly indexes and rates. Scan loan documents into electronic storage. Acquire and maintain Indiana Notary Public status. Requirements Ø Completed High School diploma or GED. Ø Previous banking experience in areas of mortgage lending, loan review, credit analysis, loan administration, lending, loan regulatory compliance or credit underwriting strongly preferred. Ø Previous bank teller experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Knowledge of various federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Regulation E, Regulation Z, Fair Lending, Regulation C, Regulation X, Selected CFPB Regulations. Basic computer operation and knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs. Excellent customer service skills. Strong communication and organizational skills. High degree of accuracy. Mathematical skills. Data entry. Ability to work independently and take control of processes and procedures. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize and make on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing customer satisfaction issues with Bank exposure to loss or fraud. Transporting files up to 25lbs.
