Job Description

The Commercial Relationship Manager is responsible for developing, expanding, and managing commercial member relationships while delivering exceptional service and strategic financial solutions. This role serves as a trusted advisor to business members by identifying opportunities, structuring complex credit solutions, and providing guidance on commercial lending, deposits, treasury management, and related business services. The Commercial Relationship Manager partners closely with internal departments and senior leadership to develop and execute relationship management strategies that support member growth, portfolio quality, and overall business objectives. This position is responsible for originating, underwriting, negotiating, and managing commercial credit relationships while maintaining a strong focus on risk management, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. Success in this role requires strong business development skills, sound financial and credit analysis, relationship management expertise, and a commitment to representing REV within the community. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, growth-oriented, and passionate about helping local businesses succeed. Develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing business members through proactive outreach, strategic relationship management, and exceptional service. Identifies opportunities to expand commercial relationships through lending, deposits, treasury management, and additional REV products and services. Serves as a trusted advisor to business members by understanding financial needs and recommending customized solutions to support long-term growth and success. Represents REV within the community by actively participating in professional organizations, networking events, and community initiatives to strengthen business partnerships and generate new opportunities. Maintains positive working relationships with members, internal partners, community leaders, and centers of influence. Interviews applicants to assess commercial lending needs and gathers all required documentation to support loan requests. Analyzes financial statements, credit reports, collateral, cash flow, and related information to evaluate creditworthiness and lending feasibility. Structures commercial loans in accordance with REV policy while balancing member needs and risk considerations. Prepares and presents financing proposals and recommendations to appropriate approval authorities. Champions lending opportunities through the credit approval process and collaborates closely with credit partners to facilitate sound lending decisions. Reviews loan documentation prior to closing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved terms. Oversees timely loan closing and funding activities while maintaining a high level of member service throughout the process. Actively manages an assigned commercial portfolio, including renewals, modifications, ongoing credit analysis, collections, portfolio monitoring, and risk assessment. Maintains strong knowledge of commercial lending practices, loan documentation, lien perfection, participation loans, and related regulatory requirements. Partners effectively with internal departments and leadership teams to support business objectives, operational efficiency, and member experience initiatives. Assists with preparation for audits, examinations, and internal reviews as needed. Provides feedback and recommendations related to processes, procedures, and policies to improve efficiency, quality, and service delivery. Supports branches and internal business partners by serving as a resource for commercial products, services, and member solutions. Completes required reports, records, and documentation accurately and within established deadlines. Attends and participates in meetings, committees, and organizational initiatives as required. Serves as a non-voting member of the Business Loan Committee. Maintains a thorough understanding of REV policies, commercial lending procedures, treasury management services, and business deposit requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable NCUA, state, federal, and regulatory guidelines. Participates in ongoing professional development and continuing education to remain knowledgeable of industry trends, lending practices, and regulatory changes. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. College degree in business, finance, or related filed; or equivalent experience. Thorough understanding of loan documents and lien perfection techniques. Complete knowledge of commercial lending requirements and documentation. Understanding of collections procedures and related legal actions. Understanding of Real Estate Appraisal techniques (commercial) and title issues. Thorough understanding of loan documentation and closing. Minimum of five (5) years of related lending experience. Experience with credit administration. Experience with business deposit origination and development. Experience with Treasury Management. Experience with loan workout and remedies preferred. Excellent follow-up skills. Excellent communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Strong ability to think critically and solve problems in a sound manner. Strong time management skills with the ability to meet applicable deadlines. Ability to multitask while maintaining a high degree of quality. Ability to drive performance and growth while supporting a positive team environment.
