Experienced VA Loan Officer

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced VA Loan Officer to join our dynamic mortgage team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of VA loan programs and mortgage lending processes to guide eligible veterans through the home financing journey. Your expertise will ensure a seamless experience for clients while maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations. Duties Assist veterans and eligible service members in understanding VA loan options, benefits, and eligibility requirements Evaluate financial documents, including credit reports, income statements, and asset statements to determine loan eligibility Conduct thorough credit analysis and underwriting to assess risk and ensure adherence to FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and VA regulations Manage the entire loan origination process from application through approval, including loan processing, documentation collection, and verification Negotiate terms with clients and third-party partners to secure favorable loan conditions while ensuring compliance with TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and Fair Housing regulations Utilize mortgage software such as Quicken or similar platforms to process loans efficiently and accurately Maintain excellent customer service by providing clear communication, timely updates, and guidance throughout the loan lifecycle Requirements Proven experience as a VA Loan Officer or in a similar mortgage lending role with a strong understanding of VA loan programs Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, mortgage servicing, underwriting procedures, and escrow processes Proficiency with mortgage origination and processing software such as Quicken or comparable systems Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent customer service abilities Familiarity with banking operations, contracts, accounting software, and financial analysis tools Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately using 10-key typing skills and math competency assessments Understanding of Fair Housing regulations, TILA compliance, and loan documentation requirements Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to clients High level of organization with attention to detail in handling loan files and contracts Join us in making a meaningful difference by helping our veterans secure their dream homes!
