GENERAL OVERVIEW
Demonstrates a highly motivated, positive, outgoing personality with strong emphasis on sales and results orientation to ensure the credit union maximizes lending and sales opportunities with members who apply for credit. Consistently demonstrates the ability to think independently, outside the box, by effectively responding to each individual member's unique situation. Possess a thorough knowledge of the lending process from application to closing. Demonstrates a commitment to exceptional member service and teamwork. Is fully knowledgeable of all credit union products and services and is able to confidently offer appropriate solutions to fit member need.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Uses strong interpersonal skills and influence to consistently achieve sales goals. Overcomes objections with persuasion and determination. Confidently presents appropriate solutions to fit members' needs. Maximizes opportunities to sell credit union products and services to benefit the member and enhance quality and depth of member relationship. Is keenly aware of personal, team, departmental and credit union wide goals and prioritizes work to achieve funding of goals. Demonstrates the ability to excel in a fast paced environment and meets goals and deadlines. Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles to maintain above average closing ratios. Demonstrates an unsurpassed commitment to exceptional member service that ensures a great experience with each encounter. Effectively responds to the needs and concerns of members; often going beyond the initial need or expressed concern. Follows up to make sure the member's expectations have been met or exceeded. Clearly explains recommendations, products and services in ways members can easily understand. Demonstrates patience, respect and professionalism with members. Actively and consistently seeks qualified opportunities to increase loan volume and residual product penetration. Actively supports member education events and seminars. Responsible for providing timely and accurate information and responses to decisions to internal and external members. Accurately and efficiently performs transactions and responds to member requests. Builds rapport with fellow team members and credit union staff. Shares personal expertise with peers. Fosters a spirit of cooperation to ensure the success of the team. Actively participates in and completes all ongoing required loan and sales training. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent GED. A minimum of two years consumer lending experience preferred. One year of experience in a sales environment. A minimum of one year in real estate lending with NMLS credentials. Must have or gain thorough knowledge of credit union's lending policies and procedures, products and services, laws and regulations. Excellent sales, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Strong organizational skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Fluent in MS Excel and Word. Become fully familiar with and clearly communicate underwriting philosophies, lending decisions (approved, denied or conditioned), approval stipulations, loan products and services, credit bureau reports and scores, credit histories, applicable Federal regulations, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP), Credit Life and Disability insurance, loan and deposit rates, lending policies and procedures and automated underwriting process.
