Full-time Job Summary:
Works with real estate agents, sellers, buyers, loan officers, and attorneys to ensure all aspects of the closing process are completed accurately and on a timely basis while balancing workload requirements and exceeding client expectations. Responsibilities include completing documents and tasks, verifying information, organizing all documents, clearing title requirements, preparing files for closing, and scheduling closings.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Completes real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements; clearing titles; assembling, preparing, and reviewing closing documents; disburses funds. Communicates regularly with all individuals involved on the file to ensure the closing process is completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Determines escrow requirements by studying and clarifying buyer, seller, and lender instructions. Obtains clear title by ordering title reports; resolving title defects; satisfying existing liens and encumbrances against property or principals. Establishes escrow account by depositing funds; maintains accurate records. Prepares transaction documents by completing disclosures and settlement statements; collects and reviews existing documents. Completes calculations by prorating taxes and interest. Completes closing transaction documents by assembling documents; reviews papers with parties; explains provisions and procedures; answers questions; checks documents for completeness and accuracy; obtains signatures. Prepares CD by utilizing lender instructions; closes escrow account by balancing and disbursing funds. Complies with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Customer service-oriented and professional. Understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the escrow/title industry. Demonstrated mastery of making informed decisions, particularly in a fast-paced, high-volume, and stressful environment. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to focus attention on details by monitoring and checking work or information. Ability to organize time and resources efficiently. Computer proficiency with ability to adapt to new processes and programs. Confident and willing to work through problems and seek solutions. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years' experience performing escrow and title duties required. Notary or ability to obtain notary within 90 days.
