Overview Horizon Farm Credit is recruiting for a Closing Specialist Manager to lead and oversee the Closing Specialist team to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant closing of loans. This role plays a critical part in delivering a seamless end-to-end lending experience by balancing operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service. This position may work in either the Mechanicsburg, PA, Westminster, MD or Winchester, VA branch location. Position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule after 6 months of successful employment. This leader will drive workflow optimization, manage pipeline performance, and foster a high-performing team environment. Partnering closely with Loan Operations, Lending, and cross-functional stakeholders, the Closing Specialist Manager identifies opportunities for continuous improvement, mitigates risk, and enhances service delivery across the organization. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, coach, and develop a team of Closing Specialists, setting clear expectations and driving accountability and performance. Foster a culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Monitor workload distribution, turnaround times, and team capacity to ensure timely loan closings. Provide hands-on support and guidance for complex or escalated transactions. Operational Excellence Ensure consistent, efficient, and compliant loan closing processes aligned with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Identify operational risks, process gaps, and inefficiencies, and implement solutions to improve workflow and accuracy. Oversee quality assurance efforts, including reviewing work output and implementing corrective action when needed. Support audit readiness and adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Lending, Processing, Post-Close, Customer Operations, and Business Development teams to ensure seamless loan lifecycle execution. Serve as a key liaison between Closing Specialists and leadership, promoting transparency and effective communication. Address pipeline bottlenecks and ensure alignment on priorities to meet customer and organizational goals. Talent Development & Performance Management Drive employee development through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations. Identify training needs and ensure team proficiency across systems, processes, and regulatory requirements. Support career development and succession planning within Loan Operations. Strategic & Organizational Contribution Participate in cross-functional initiatives, committees, and process improvement efforts. Contribute to reporting, metric tracking, and performance analysis. Promote organizational values and maintain a strong customer-focused mindset. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Business, Agriculture, or a related field. Experience leading or supervising teams, or demonstrated leadership in a project or team environment.Required Skills:
Strong understanding of loan operations, documentation, and closing processes. Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in financial services. Direct management experience in loan operations or commercial lending. Strong leadership and team development skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills with a focus on collaboration and customer service. High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy. Proficiency in loan systems, technology tools, and reporting platform Who are we?
