JOB DESCRIPTION
- Loan Officer (commission) Overview The Loan Officer is a commissioned sales professional responsible for originating mortgage loans, developing client relationships, and managing the loan pipeline from application to closing. This role is a W2 regular employee with a commission-only pay structure. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Loan Officer requires an individual who is knowledgeable in the field, able to properly manage multiple client files simultaneously, and effectively work with the Canopy team to meet common goals.
Responsibilities :
Originate mortgage loans and manage borrower relationships Develop referral partner and client pipelines Structure loan scenarios based on borrower needs Manage loan pipeline from application through closing Communicate with borrowers, agents, and internal teams Respond to underwriting and processing conditions Ensure compliance with lending laws and company policies Maintain consistent production and pipeline activity Other duties as they arise may be requested
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid state of Washington drivers license and satisfactory driving record Legally authorized to work in the US without restriction or sponsorship. Must be at least 18 years of age An Associates Degree or higher is desired (not required) At least two years of experience in mortgage or lending is required Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check is required When assigned a support staff, supervisory experience is preferred Current, valid state of Washington mortgage lending license in good standing Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer/office knowledge. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and billing tasks. Ability to perform accurate basic mathematical calculations related to payroll processing Ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially. Ability to handle multiple files simultaneously. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, and nonverbal) with clients, vendors, and coworkers Ability to work independently or within a team Professional customer service mindset Proven ability to be punctual, dependable, and maintain reliable attendance
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel. Ability to operate standard office equipment and electronics. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and use manual dexterity of limbs sufficient to safely fulfill duties
Additional:
W2, Non-Benefitted 100% commission-based compensation Bonus-eligible based on performance and production While flexible work schedule, the ability to work within usual business operations for team and client meets may be required Hybrid in-office/remote in Spokane, Washington Any area of this job description may be modified to fulfill reasonable accommodations either long-term or temporarily on a case-by-case basis with prior management approval and mutual agreement by management and employee.
