Non-Delegated Mortgage Underwriter III Location:
Remote Texas What you'll do: A Mortgage Underwriter III is responsible for underwriting conventional loans by reviewing the credit, capacity, and collateral characteristics of loan files to ensure it meets company and investor quality standards. Manage individual pipeline on a daily basis by completing Conventional loans, Non-Agency (including Bank Statement, Jumbo, and DSCR programs), simple and complex Underwriting Reviews, Conditions Reviews and other Underwriting Tasks within established turn times. Identify any document deficiencies, request additional information and/or documentation from Clients as needed. Navigate and interpret all Agency, Non-Agency and company guidelines. Assist other department personnel in interpreting underwriting guidelines, update loan status and complete all necessary tasks assigned to loan. Contact clients to provide updates and clarification on outstanding conditions and deficiencies identified on loans. Experience associated with client-initiated scenario questions and ability to provide live assistance with loan structure and solution-based guidance. What you'll need: 7+ years of related experience in Mortgage Industry, Residential Mortgage Loan underwriting or similar field. High school diploma required. Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending;, including sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services. Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices. Advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and USDA Guidelines. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products. Intermediate knowledge of Encompass. Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
