BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY
: The role of Banking Loan Assistant is vital in supporting the lending operations of a financial institution, focusing on loan underwriting and maintenance. This individual ensures smooth loan processing, compliance with regulations, and fosters customer relationships across various loan types including commercial, consumer, and real estate. Adherence to bank policies and state/federal regulations is paramount. The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties required in this position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties, Skills, Responsibilities and Expectations:
Perform diverse loan department tasks such as processing payments, generating loan documents, and reviewing loan approvals. Provide clerical support for commercial lending activities, assisting in document preparation and data entry. Assist Commercial Lending Officers, ensuring efficient departmental functioning. Coordinate and maintain complex documentation for commercial loans, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in client interactions. Collaborate with participating institutions to reconcile loan accounts and ensure accuracy in all loan-related transactions. Review loan documentation for completeness and compliance with internal policies and regulations. Perform various administrative tasks including data entry, file maintenance, and document preparation. Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing information on loan processes and status. Facilitate communication between internal departments to streamline information flow and document processing. Generate reports and compile data to support commercial lending team's reporting needs. Assist in processing and maintaining participation/syndication loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Support Participations and Syndications Manager with strategic planning and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Loan Operations teams to ensure comprehensive understanding of processes and resolve queries efficiently. Undertake additional tasks assigned by Loan Operations Management to support departmental functions. Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business necessity.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Proficient in computer (Word and Excel) and general office skills High-level professionalism and ability to maintain customer confidentiality. High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Flexibility to deal with interruptions, changing priorities, and deadlines. Good command of loan documentation and credit related processes. Ability to read and understand regulations, policies, and procedures. Interpersonal skills including courtesy, tact, and diplomacy as giving and obtaining information may require some discussion of a sensitive or personal nature.
Required Education:
High School diploma or GED with relevant experience Associate degree in finance, business administration a plus Previous bank lending experience is strongly preferred.
