Job Description

Job Summary Local Community Financial Institution is seeking a strategic and innovative lending officer to join the organization as Loan Officer . With a strong financial foundation, we serve a broad multi-county footprint across the Brazos Valley. Reporting to the CEO, the primary Loan Officer provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for all lending functions. This includes consumer lending, Home Equity lending, mortgage lending, loan operations, credit lines, and member solutions (collections). This role ensures the credit union delivers competitive, compliant, and member-focused lending products and services while maintaining strong asset quality, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. The Loan Officer is a key contributor to organizational strategy, portfolio performance, and member experience. The selected candidate will have a history of demonstrated success in lending, a strategic mindset, be innovative, possess excellent leadership and communication skills and a passion for the industry. Proven experience overseeing multiple functions across the full loan lifecycle such as consumer and/or mortgage lending, loan operations or collections is a must. Formal business or finance education and 5+ years of progressive experience in lending or finance at a financial institution with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role required. Duties Oversee loan origination processes, ensuring efficient application handling, approval workflows, and timely disbursement of funds Ensure compliance with federal regulations such as , FCRA, TILA (Truth in Lending Act), along with Texas state laws and credit union regulations. Adhere to policies for loan processing, documentation, contracts, and risk assessment and diversification to uphold operational integrity. Assist and monitor finance and software teams to optimize financial software systems used for loan management and reporting Actively monitor industry trends, economic risks and market conditions to identify opportunities for growth and innovation in lending products Maintain accurate records through meticulous documentation of all loan transactions, approvals, and member communications using core software and ancillary programs Qualifications Extensive experience in loan origination within the financial services sector, with a strong understanding of loan processing procedures Proven track record as a loan officer or in a senior lending role demonstrating leadership capabilities Deep knowledge of relevant regulations including TILA, FCRA, contracts law, and federal compliance standards governing lending practices Proficiency in financial software platforms used for loan management and reporting systems Strong accounting skills including general ledger accounting proficiency necessary for financial reconcilment, budget and analysis Ability to perform precise data entry quickly and accurately; draft correspondence professionally and communication verbally the goals and policies of the credit union Must have at least 5 year of progressive leadership in lending and/or management with communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments and with members across all demographics This role is perfect for an experienced lender eager to take on a lending role that could lead to an executive leadership position as President or CEO and to establlish the future growth of the credit union by creating a positive impact on our member's lives.
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
