Full Job Description Job Description:
Interviewing, educating, and advising members of their mortgage options at Educators Credit Union. Providing members with the opportunity to become a homeowner. Keeps informed of current trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage lending. Educate and advise members regarding other Credit Union services when it is beneficial to the member. Interview members, receive loan applications, and process new loans including 1st and 2nd mortgages. Handle pre qualifications for members both on the telephone and in person for real estate loans. Council members on steps to take in order to be able to obtain a mortgage in the future and provide home buying information. Prepare extension agreements when requested. Perform mortgage closings. Performs other duties as needed.
Required Skills:
To provide first class service and support to members, coworkers, and other partners. To exercise good judgment and decision making by incorporating procedures and policies along with the ability to make exceptions as needed. To demonstrate commitment to and knowledge of credit union values, mission, goals, and policies through exceptional service, professional image, attendance and punctuality, timely responses, and by demonstrating consistent conduct that reflects the core values of Educators. Measured by observation and feedback from managers, members, and staff; net promoter scores and surveys; internal branch and organizational measurements and goals. To demonstrate willingness to work in and support a team. Process mortgage applications and get them to the processing department within 24 hours. To maintain working knowledge of all mortgage products and rates.
Required Experience:
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation. Must enjoy working with people, have good communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team. Knowledge of the secondary market and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending. West Allis Branch is located at: 10635 W Greenfield Ave. West Allis, WI 53214.
