Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective The closing associate position prepares real estate loans to ensure they are closed in conformance with underwriting guidelines, prepares loans for booking and settlement, and tracks and clears post close file exceptions. Essential Functions May Include Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Review loan files for data integrity. Order payoffs and insurance, as applicable. Prepare all closing disclosures in compliance with TRID. Reconciliation of all closing disclosures with the title company and/or lender. Prepare closing documents in compliance with MMS's policies and procedures. Communicate and coordinate the closing appointment as a team member, along with the lender, realtors, borrower, title companies, and other vendors. Review all mortgage loans for compliance with internal QC policy. Track and clear all post-closing file exceptions, as applicable. Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. Familiarize yourself with FNMA and FMAC guidelines. Performs other projects and duties as assigned. Competencies Ensure maintenance of confidentiality and compliance regulations. Maintain a professional, friendly and helpful relationship with all staff and members. Performs all essential job functions and responsibilities in a timely and professional manner. Observes all MMS guidelines and policies. Required Education and Experience Equivalent to a high school education. Prior mortgage industry experience is preferred, but not required. Must successfully demonstrate a high level of professionalism while working with coworkers and customers. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to successfully maintain confidentiality. Strong customer service skills. Problem solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Capacity to adapt to changing priorities and needs. Ability to collaborate with coworkers and other departments. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand or sit, talk, hear, and operate a computer and telephone.
