POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION PURPOSE
The Loan Processor will work closely with members, both in person and over the phone, taking applications, pulling credit reports, and walking them through each step of their loan. The Loan Processor will prepare and finalize documents, close loans, and make sure every file is accurate and complete. The Loan Processor will also review loans submitted by dealerships, follow up for any missing paperwork or signatures, and handle title work to ensure everything's in order. Attention to detail, strong communication, and organization are key to success in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Take complete and accurate loan applications over the phone, and in person, ensuring all required borrower information is collected and reviewed by a loan officer. Pull and evaluate credit reports to determine loan eligibility in accordance with underwriting guidelines. Prepare and finalize loan documents for approval and closing, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures. Conduct loan closings, review documents with members, obtain necessary signatures, and disburse funds as appropriate. Answer questions from members throughout the loan process. Maintain communication regarding loan status and required documents. Organize and maintain physical and digital loan files, ensuring all documentation is complete and securely stored. Review indirect loan files received from auto dealerships for completeness. Follow up with dealerships to obtain any missing documents, signatures, or necessary corrections. Request, track, and maintain title work for collateralized loans. Discuss other credit union products and services with members. Coordinate with other branches, departments, and team members to facilitate smooth loan processing and resolve issues. Ensure all loan files meet internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Verify accuracy in documentation to prevent delays or errors. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School degree or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in loan processing, banking, or credit union environment preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience Required:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office and or loan processing software. Familiarity with credit reports, loan documents, and title process.
Skills/Abilities:
Strong communication skills. Excellent member service and relationship-building abilities. Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills. Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures. Knowledge of loan products and services.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
