About the Internship Lutheran Church Extension Fund provides an experiential learning opportunity for college students interested in working with a nonprofit, faith-based financial institution. Working in the Mortgage Lending department of LCEF will provide the intern with hands-on experience supporting mortgage operations, coordinating administrative processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with team members in a professional business environment. This part-time (20-24 hours per week) paid internship will take place from Monday, June 1st through the end of August at the LCEF national office located in Sunset Hills, Missouri. Our program is designed for mentorship and professional development, including additional learning in areas like business etiquette, communication and leadership. What You'll Do Provide operational support to mortgage loan officers and the mortgage lending team Order and track vendor services, including homeowner's insurance, flood insurance, and verification of income documentation Follow up with vendors and partners to ensure timely receipt of required documents and information Assist with processing and routing incoming mail and correspondence Support daily operations through faxing, emailing, imaging, filing, and making telephone calls Maintain accurate loan documentation and records within internal systems Network with professionals across the organization Assist with additional projects and operational tasks as assigned What We're Looking For Full-time college student, preferably in Sophomore or Junior year Completed coursework toward a bachelor's degree business, or a related field Exercises discretion and judgment in confidential matters Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills Experienced Microsoft Office user (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
