Non-Exempt SUMMARY:
The Mortgage Inbound Call Specialist assists members with their mortgage loan questions and takes applications utilizing the online platform.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The MICS responds to general telephone inquiries from members as requested. Works trigger leads and outbound calling campaigns to generate applications. The MICS conducts telephone interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, advise members of product/pricing policies and guidelines Must demonstrate a commitment to professional ethics and complying with all Federal, State and HMDA compliance policies and requirements. Ability to identify the appropriate mortgage loan product to best fit the needs of the borrower. Performs outbound sales calls on lead programs to generate new applications. Achieves production and quality goals. Sells and/or refers Credit Union products and services to members. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of FHA, VA, Conventional Fixed-Rate, In-House, and Construction First Mortgage Loans. Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Attend and complete all KFCU meetings and trainings as required. Required to attend all monthly meetings with the Mortgage Department.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists others within the department as directed. Participate in marketing seminars, classes and other events that promote home ownership. May assist with cross training other staff as needed.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Education:
(1) A two year college degree or equivalent experience is preferred or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
Experience and Other Requirements:
Three years of similar or related experience in the financial industry, with at least one year as a Mortgage Originator preferred. Demonstrated overall understanding of loan origination, mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures. Knowledge of conventional and government lending guidelines is preferred. Understanding of Federal Regulations for Real Estate Lending. Strong computer skills including a fundamental understanding of automated underwriting applications, database management and previous experience utilizing laptop technology for communication purposes including accessing rate, credit and loan status information. Strong time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a variety of audiences. Ability to analyze and comprehend complex financial data and provide financial alternatives. Professional and effective interpersonal skills. Must exhibit a thorough knowledge of arithmetic competency, and possesses basic clerical skills, including operating a PC. Must possess an outgoing personality with a helpful attitude and a well-developed sales culture attitude towards credit union services and products. Accuracy and attention to detail required. Must possess and maintain good interpersonal skills with members and co-workers. Must possess on-going ability to keep abreast of changing policies and procedures. Must maintain confidentiality and display dependability. Overtime may be required as work and circumstances require. Must be able to meet Safe Act Mortgage Loan Officer Registration requirements at all times. Must pass a criminal background check. Must demonstrate a history of financial responsibility, character and general fitness. (A credit report will be pulled prior to employment.)

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Computer Skills:
Extensive use of personal PC required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as use of internet and e-mail.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
None required prior to employment. Safe Act registration and receipt of NMLS number required within 10 business days of employment with
KFCU. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
