Job Description

Reports to:
Lending Manager Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the end-to-end processing, funding, and quality control of consumer loans, with a strong emphasis on compliance, audit readiness, and procedural accuracy. The Lending Support Associate plays a critical role in identifying policy or procedural issues early to maintain the integrity of the credit union's loan portfolio.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Core Duties - Loan Processing & Documentation Process consumer loan applications, ensuring files are accurate and ready for underwriting Prepare loan documentation in alignment with loan decisions and stipulations Work with internal staff and dealership partners to obtain and validate required documentation Ensure timely progression of loans through the processing pipeline Core Duties - Quality Assurance & Audit Controls Conduct detailed reviews of loan files to ensure completeness and adherence to lending policies Identify and correct discrepancies or missing information according to credit union procedures Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, internal controls, and audit standards Maintain documentation in accordance with Credit Union record retention policies Maintain audit-ready files in accordance with record retention requirements Provide support during internal and external audits
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Prior loan experience is not required; training on CU policies and procedures will be provided Ability to follow defined processes and maintain consistency across tasks Comfortable working in a back-office role with limited member interaction Open to coaching and feedback to ensure alignment with established standards and success of position
