Overview:
ABOUT US
Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Non-Agency Collateral Specialist is responsible for the delivery of collateral documents in accordance with master repurchase agreements, selling guidelines, contracts and/or mandatory commitments. This position is responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, as well as for investigating and resolving document and data discrepancies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive and reconcile collateral documents from correspondent clients. Responsible for reviewing documents and images to ensure compliance with internal product requirements, GSE requirements, warehouse investor contracts and/or mandatory commitments. Ability to review product specific collateral and entity specific signature requirements. Prepare and package collateral files for delivery to the document custodian. Communicate with upstream and downstream business partners on suggestions for process improvements as well as updating of loan- level data. Communicate internal departments when self-funding process applies. Collaborate with internal departments to investigate and resolve document and data deficiencies cited by investors/document custodians. Communicate with document custodian regarding shipping and delivery activity as necessary. Track and reconcile collateral status and exception reports. This includes updating internal systems as required to ensure deficiencies have been properly identified. Provide assistance and guidance to correspondent clients and internal business partners to ensure clarity of requirements needed to cure. (May include providing samples of defective collateral) Provide requested reporting to internal departments as necessary. Assist department with special projects and handle additional tasks as assigned by Management as Act in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education and Experience:
College degree preferred or 2 years equivalent experience in mortgage banking operations (i.e. Document Management, Document Custodian, Post Closing, etc.) Familiarity with current mortgage banking practices. Understanding of shipping and custodial processes and policies a plus. D emonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and ability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency and working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines in a constantly changing environment. Ability to work overtime. EEOC Bayview is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
