Job Description

Cherewka Law, P.C. is a full-service transactional law firm serving individuals, families, and businesses across Central Pennsylvania. Our practice spans estate planning, elder law, real estate, estate administration, and business law, and we bring the same level of care and personal attention to every client and every matter. We're looking for an experienced title coordinator, settlement coordinator, or real estate paralegal to join our real estate team and play a central role in managing our closing process from start to finish, and to assist with our real estate practice. This is a position for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys the rhythm of real estate transactions. You'll work directly alongside our attorneys and have real ownership over the title and closing workflow. We invest in our team. Compensation:
$40,000 - $50,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
Record transactions by entering necessary title and loan documents into software programs and track applicant's progress Communicate with pre-processor to be sure all items are complete, paralegal or settlement processor to ensure all settlement figures are correct, and with post-closing agent to ensure the transaction is recorded and any outstanding issues are resolved Assure all closing instructions are followed as per the closing package, and confirm with loan officer, mortgage loan processor, and underwriter to be sure all underwriting commitments have been satisfied Interface with title examiner and underwriter to prepare title insurance policy and binders and title commitments, and with loan closer to prepare HUD-1 real estate closing statements Analyze and verify the accuracy of documentation such as leases, surveys, contracts, property title records, property ownership, public records, deeds, and agreements needed to produce a clear title Order and manage title searches, and review title commitments for accuracy and issues Coordinate closings with buyers, sellers, realtors, and lenders — keeping all parties informed and on track Obtain tax certifications as required for transactions Prepare closing packages and ensure all documents are accurate and complete before settlement Handle post-closing recording and follow-up, including recording deeds Manage transaction workflow and communication through Qualia Serve as a reliable point of contact for clients, agents, and lenders throughout the transaction process Assist, as needed, with real estate-related tasks for the law firm, including deed preparation, pulling recorded documents/title searches, drafting/editing leases, easement agreements, etc.
Qualifications:
Proficient computer skills with numerous programs including MS Office is vital High school diploma or equivalent is required, some college preferred Certification as a notary public is not required but is appreciated Outstanding communications, customer service, research, and analysis skills are preferred Years of experience (1-3) with real estate transactions or title processing, or as a title company pre-processor or mortgage loan processor is essential 2-4 years of experience in a title coordinator, closing coordinator, or similar role Hands-on experience with Qualia and Simplifile or similar software Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously Clear, professional communication skills A team-first attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment Familiarity with Pennsylvania real estate closing practices is a plus Certification as a notary public is not required, but is appreciated About Company We're not your typical law firm, and we mean that in the best possible way.
