This position will be located on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Lancaster, SC. Remote work is not available at this time.
JOB SUMMARY
: The Mortgage Servicing Specialist is responsible for handling members mortgage loan servicing inquiries via telephone or email. Responsible for using their knowledge of Mortgage Loan Procedures to effectively resolve outstanding issues and fulfill member requests by researching and exploring solutions.
JOB DUTIES
: Effectively and professionally assist and communicate with members, non-members, and employees not only verbally, but as well as written communication whether it be via mail or email. Understand complex real estate terminology and communicate using meaning language that is member friendly. Respond to inquiries, resolve problems, and fulfill member requests by researching and exploring solutions and completing transactions in a timely and professional manner. Research core system to identify transaction or interest rate errors and perform corrections on all mortgage account types. Review, research, and process loan extension and file maintenance requests accurately in accordance with mortgage loan procedures. Comprehend, validate, and complete various Mortgage Servicing related reports with accuracy and within required time frames. Prepare and process Mortgage Loan Verifications. Calculate and prepare mortgage payoffs for third parties and members. Research payoff checks received to validate sufficient funds were received for payoff. Remove Home Equity Lines of Credit upon receipt of payoff if needed. Multi-task and work in a high-volume phone and work queue. Handle all requests accurately, efficiently and with exceptional member service. Complete and deliver Adverse Actions to members within the timing requirements of ECOA and follow all other statutes and regulations. Responsible for satisfaction of paid out security instrument documents within the required time guidelines and the ability to release mobile home titles from E-Title. Receive, sort, scan, and validate all mortgage closing and post-closing documents to verify the credit union lien position is correct. Assist members with escrow or interest rate adjustment questions. Assist members with questions regarding tax or homeowners' insurance payments. Maintain a working knowledge of Founders Federal Credit Union products and services, to best serve our members. Attend initial phone etiquette training and any ongoing training as needed. Comply with Founders' policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality. All other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
: A two-year college degree or job equivalent is desired. General knowledge of mortgage processing or servicing experience is desired. The MSS must have a strong work ethic with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment. Individual must work efficiently and independently and have a strong attention to detail. Must possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and member service skills. Must always "Think Member" and look for opportunities to serve our membership in the best interest of the member and the credit union.
