Job Description

This will be a Summer 2026 internship located in our Downtown Nashville, TN office. Position Summary The SBA Department Intern will provide administrative and operational support to the bank's Small Business Administration team. This role is designed for a student or early-career professional interested in commercial lending, small business financing, and banking operations. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with SBA loan processes, documentation, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Assist with gathering, organizing, and reviewing loan documentation for SBA applications. Support data entry, file maintenance, and recordkeeping in accordance with bank and SBA guidelines. Help prepare credit files, loan packets, and internal reports. Conduct basic research on small businesses, industries, and SBA program requirements. Provide support in communicating with customers, internal partners, and external vendors. Help track loan status and follow up on outstanding items. Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions. Perform other administrative tasks to support the SBA lending team. Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Interest in banking, lending, or small business financing is a plus. What You'll Gain Exposure to SBA lending processes and regulatory guidelines.
