Under limited supervision, the Loan Closer - SFR with PlainsCapital Bank assists in processing daily Single-Family Residence loan documentation requests by tracking the loan pipeline. Responsibilities include preparing early disclosures, ordering flood certificates, title work, appraisals, and appraisal reviews as needed. Works with title companies to ensure HUD and/or Closing Disclosure (CD) statements are completed accurately and reviews/approves them. Verifies that loans are closed according to regulatory and loan policy standards and ensures all requests are fulfilled within designated guidelines. Orders and reviews loan documents and funds loans. This position supports Commercial and Consumer Single Family Residence loan closings. High School diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required. 2 years of experience in lending or loan operations field required. Knowledge of real estate loan documentation required. Knowledge of Flood Regulation requirements preferred. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems. Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment. Must be self-motivated with strong attention to detail and high level of accountability. Prepares early disclosures (including Loan Estimates). Contacts title companies for estimated fees. Tracks loan pipeline and maintains a volume of approximately 25 loans. Orders flood certificates and follows flood procedures when a property is in a flood zone. Orders title work and coordinates closing with title companies. Compares credit scoring system and pricing matrix to ensure correct rate. Prepares appraisal engagement letters and orders appraisal reviews. Reviews and approves HUD and/or Closing Disclosures. Prepares order sheet and provides attorney with required items to order loan documents. Verifies initial and final APRs are within tolerance and meets Regulation Z standards. Runs HPML calculations and calculates escrow amounts on required loans. Calculates funding amounts, sends required items to Note Department for booking, and inputs wire information into wire system. Performs other duties as assigned. Acts as backup for consumer residential loan closings. Reviews and prepares final closing package and ships to Lubbock credit department
