About the
Role:
The Night Auditor at Honey Creek Resort plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the resort's financial records by performing nightly audits of all guest accounts and transactions. This position serves as the bridge between the front desk operations and the accounting department, reconciling daily revenue and resolving discrepancies to maintain seamless financial reporting. The Night Auditor is also responsible for providing exceptional guest service during overnight hours, addressing guest inquiries, and managing front desk operations with professionalism and efficiency. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently during the night shift while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Ultimately, the Night Auditor contributes to the overall financial health and guest satisfaction of Honey Creek Resort by ensuring that all nightly financial processes are completed accurately and on time.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, finance, or hospitality preferred. Previous experience in hotel front desk operations or auditing, preferably in a hospitality environment. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation processes. Proficiency with property management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during overnight hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with hospitality accounting software such as Opera or similar systems. Certification in auditing or accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle guest interactions professionally and courteously. Familiarity with safety and security procedures in a hotel environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
Perform nightly audits of all guest accounts, including verifying and reconciling daily revenue and transactions. Prepare and distribute daily financial reports to management and accounting teams. Manage front desk operations during overnight hours, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and handling guest inquiries or concerns. Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing or payments, coordinating with relevant departments as needed. Ensure compliance with all resort policies and procedures related to financial transactions and guest services. Maintain accurate records of all transactions and prepare documentation for audit purposes. Monitor security and safety protocols during the night shift to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
