Job Description

Job Summary Night Auditor / Front Desk Agent (11 p.m. - 7 a.m.)Overview We are seeking a dedicated, dependable, and professional Night Auditor / Front Desk Agent to join our team. You will be the primary point of contact for guests during overnight hours, responsible for guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and smooth overnight hotel operation. This role combines front desk responsibilities with nightly accounting and audit procedures. Strong attention to detail, reliability, communication skills, and the ability to work independently are essential. A key focus of this role is closing sales—whether through reservations, walk-ins, or upselling room types. Candidates with sales experience or an entrepreneurial mindset are strongly encouraged to apply. We value individuals who want long-term growth in the hospitality industry and are willing to take initiative beyond the standard front desk role. Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests during overnight hours with a friendly and professional demeanor. Manage check-in and check-out processes efficiently while ensuring accurate guest accounts. Handle guest inquiries and provide information on hotel services, amenities, nearby restaurants, downtown Wichita, and local events. Process reservations, cancellations, and walk-in sales using hotel management software. Perform nightly audit procedures, including balancing daily transactions, verifying reports, and ensuring financial accuracy for the property. Prepare end-of-day reports and assist management with overnight operational tasks. Monitor hotel security and maintain awareness of overnight property activity. Maintain a well-organized workspace, including folding laundry or bed sheets, which may comprise approximately 25-40% of the role during slower overnight hours. Address guest concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining a calm and solution-oriented attitude. Operate phone systems to manage calls, reservations, and guest requests. Support overall hotel operations and guest satisfaction throughout the overnight shift. Requirements Previous hotel, hospitality, customer service, or night audit experience preferred.
Entrepreneurial mindset:
This role involves actively closing sales by converting inquiries into reservations and identifying opportunities to improve hotel performance. High performers may be considered for pay adjustments after three months. Strong communication and customer service skills required. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish or other languages) may qualify for higher starting pay. Ability to work independently and responsibly during overnight hours. Strong attention to detail and comfort working with reports, numbers, and financial reconciliation. Familiarity with hotel front desk systems and night audit procedures is advantageous, though training can be provided for the right candidate. Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. Positive attitude and commitment to outstanding guest service. We integrate team members into the Choice Hotels system and provide rapid growth opportunities for individuals who excel. We strive to create a family-oriented environment rather than a typical corporate hotel atmosphere. Candidates who demonstrate leadership, operational knowledge, and strong performance may eventually be considered for supervisory or GM-track opportunities. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us long term. Let's talk!
