Job Description

  • This position is part time, Tuesday-Thursday nights regularly
JOB DESCRIPTION
The night auditor audits all accounts to ensure they are in balance and prepares final reports for management. The night auditor also serves as the third-shift front desk clerk ensuring maximum room revenues and guest satisfaction, in line with Veridea standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assists all guests in a sincere and professional manner, meeting and exceeding customer service expectations in order to ensure guest satisfaction without sacrificing hotel standards.
  • Verifies that all charges to guest accounts made during the day are correct, and posts room charges for that day so that all guest accounts are current and in balance by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
  • Completes all credit card transmittals, direct bills, and no-show billings for the day.
  • Prepares all daily, monthly, and yearly reports required by the property.
  • Acts as the manager on duty in the absence of the general manager or AGM.
  • Registers and processes guests promptly upon arrival and departure.
  • Demonstrates the use of sales techniques to effectively sell the property, maximizing occupancy and average rate.
  • Receives and processes telephone and walk-in reservations accurately.
  • Professionally and competently operates the telephone system according to Veridea standards.
  • Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures as required to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
  • Proactively looks for opportunities and seeks other duties to benefit overall operations of hotel.
  • Sets up breakfast daily, ensuring full preparation for the arrival of the breakfast attendant.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area to effectively assist guests.
  • Ensures that guest issues, whether it relates to your tasks or otherwise, are dealt with appropriately. If outside the bounds of authority, promptly brings the matter to the attention of hotel management.
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to improve operations.
  • Adheres to all company policy and procedures, safety procedures, Health Department, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Quickly learns and performs front desk technical procedures as well as audit procedures, such as: check-in, check-out, selling skills, computer operations, telephone operation, etc. 2. Operates computer or cash register to handle monetary transactions and give correct change. 3. Works well on multiple tasks at the same time. 4. Effectively manages stress, showing self-control during difficult situations. 5. Ability to work accurately and competently with numbers. 6. Demonstrates strong organization skills and detail organization. 7. Serves, reacts quickly and adjusts to different guest situations. 8. Accepts directions and priorities from supervisor and reliably follows-through on tasks. 9. Performs job duties with a minimum of disruption to the guest. 10. Friendly and cheerful; interacts easily with strangers. 11. Cooperates with and supports others. 12. Works independently with little supervision. 13. Handles the physical demands of the job, including physically manipulating equipment such as: cash register, computer, credit card machines, telephone console/switchboard, calculator, etc. 14. Grooming and appearance must meet Employee Handbook Standards.
Pay:
$14.75 - $16.75 per hour
