The Front Desk / Night Auditor is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's front desk. This role involves balancing daily financial transactions, providing exceptional customer service, and assisting with any guest needs or concerns during the night. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, organized, and possess strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all night audit functions, including balancing the day's transactions and running daily reports (e.g., guest folios, financial reports, room status). Ensure accuracy of the guest check-in/check-out process and post charges accurately. Provide front desk support, including assisting guests with inquiries, checking in and out, and addressing special requests. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions in compliance with hotel policies. Monitor and maintain the hotel's security system, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests and staff. Respond to guest complaints or issues and escalate to management as necessary. Prepare end-of-day reports and financial reconciliation for the accounting department. Assist with basic housekeeping duties, including room inspections and coordinating with housekeeping staff on any discrepancies. Perform administrative tasks, including filing, scheduling, and inventory management. Stay informed of all hotel services, policies, and procedures to effectively assist guests. Monitor hotel occupancy levels and prepare necessary adjustments for room availability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in hospitality management or a related field preferred. Previous experience in a hotel or front desk role preferred. Strong understanding of hotel operations, accounting, and customer service principles. Ability to perform basic accounting and financial reconciliation tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Micros, or similar systems). Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to handle stressful situations with a calm demeanor. Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements:
