Job Description
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the nightly operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, guest services, and security procedures during the overnight shift. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the hotel's reputation for exceptional guest experiences and upholding operational standards while providing support to guests during non-traditional hours. Maintain confidentiality of guest information and sensitive hotel data, always adhering to privacy policies and security measures. Must adhere to the company's grooming, uniform, and dress code policies. Assist with varied projects as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Conduct night audit procedures to verify the accuracy of guest accounts, including posting room charges, taxes, and payments, balancing revenue, and settlements, and generating daily reports. Provide exceptional guest service during overnight hours, including check-in and check-out processes, responding to guest inquiries and requests, and resolving issues or concerns. Monitor hotel security and safety protocols, including surveillance of guest areas, monitoring of fire alarm systems, and responding to emergencies or disturbances as needed. Assist with administrative tasks such as processing reservations, answering phone calls, and handling guest correspondence during the night shift. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area, lobby, and common areas throughout the night, maintaining a professional and welcoming atmosphere for guests. Collaborate with other hotel team members, including housekeeping, maintenance, and security teams, to address guest needs and maintain operational efficiency. Perform end-of-day procedures, including closing out cash registers, reconciling financial transactions, and preparing reports for management review. Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures, including brand standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements, to ensure compliance and guest satisfaction. Stay informed about hotel events, promotions, and amenities to provide accurate information and assistance to guests during the night shift.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in hospitality or related field preferred. Previous experience in hotel front desk operations, night audit, or customer service roles preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions and record-keeping. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues. Proficiency in computer systems and hotel management software, including hotel management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel property for extended periods. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, computers, and other tools. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity to read documents, analyze reports, and use computer screens. Auditory ability to communicate with guests and colleagues in person and over the phone. Stamina to work long hours and handle stressful situations effectively.
