Role:
The Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and financial accuracy of hotel operations during overnight hours. This position is responsible for reconciling daily financial transactions, auditing guest accounts, and preparing detailed reports that support management decision-making. The Night Auditor acts as the primary point of contact for guests during the night shift, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues that arise. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, the Night Auditor helps maintain the integrity of the hotel's financial records while contributing to a positive guest experience during overnight hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reconciliation. Experience with hotel property management systems or similar software. Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to work overnight shifts independently. Previous experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar hospitality role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in hospitality management, accounting, or a related field. Proficiency with advanced hotel management software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
Responsibilities:
Perform nightly audit of all hotel financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and completeness. Reconcile daily revenue reports and prepare detailed audit reports for management review. Provide front desk services during overnight hours, including guest check-in and check-out, handling reservations, and responding to guest inquiries or concerns. Monitor security and safety procedures throughout the property during the night shift. Collaborate with other hotel departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth operational flow.
