Job Description
A growing global organization is seeking an experienced International Payroll Director to lead and oversee all domestic and international payroll operations. This leadership role will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across multiple countries while driving process improvements, scalability, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong global payroll expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to navigate complex multi-country compliance environments within a fast-paced organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all international and domestic payroll operations across multiple countries and regions Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and international regulations Manage relationships with global payroll providers, tax partners, and external vendors Oversee payroll processing, reconciliations, reporting, and year-end activities Ensure compliance with local tax laws, labor regulations, and reporting requirements Develop and improve payroll controls, processes, and standard operating procedures Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams on payroll-related initiatives Support global expansion efforts, acquisitions, and integration activities Lead payroll system enhancements, implementations, and optimization projects Supervise and mentor payroll staff while building scalable payroll infrastructure Assist with audits, internal controls, and risk management initiatives Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field 8+ years of progressive payroll experience, including international payroll leadership Strong knowledge of multi-country payroll regulations and compliance requirements Experience managing payroll operations across multiple legal entities and currencies Familiarity with global payroll providers and HRIS/payroll systems Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Preferred Qualifications:
