In this vital role, you will oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees across various departments. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a smooth payroll experience for our team members. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills in payroll management, accounting software, and human resources systems to support our organization's growth and success. Responsibilities Manage end-to-end payroll processing using advanced payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Oversee data entry of employee hours, wages, benefits, and deductions while maintaining meticulous records for audit purposes. Reconcile payroll accounts regularly through general ledger reconciliation and account analysis to ensure consistency with financial statements. Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to administer benefits programs, including benefits administration and non-profit accounting procedures when applicable. Ensure compliance with tax regulations by managing tax filings, wage garnishments, and other statutory reporting requirements. Conduct detailed analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors, implementing corrective actions promptly. Maintain proficiency in various financial software such as QuickBooks, Kronos, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and other HRIS systems to streamline payroll workflows. Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and assist with month-end closing activities involving accounts payable and receivable. Support internal audits by providing necessary documentation related to payroll transactions and account reconciliations. Assist in the development of policies related to payroll management, timekeeping accuracy, and compliance standards. Experience Proven experience managing payroll operations within a corporate or nonprofit environment using systems like Workday, ADP, Paychex or similar platforms. Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger accounting, and journal entries. Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state tax regulations related to payroll processing and reporting requirements. Familiarity with various accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar financial management tools. Experience in benefits administration, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices is highly desirable. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and data analysis tasks accurately. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of human resources processes including HRIS systems like UltiPro or PeopleSoft enhances your effectiveness in this role.
