Payroll Manager in Westlake Village, Ca About the role We are a publicly traded company looking for an experienced Manager of Payroll & Stock Administration to join our Finance and HR Operations team. This is a hands-on role with real scope - you'll own two high-stakes, high-visibility functions where accuracy and compliance are non-negotiable, while collaborating across HR, Finance, Legal, and external vendors. What you'll own Payroll Manage end-to-end U.S. payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance Administer payroll systems and manage relationships with external payroll providers Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage, tax, and reporting requirements Reconcile payroll-related accounts (wages, taxes, benefits, deductions) and support audits Lead payroll process improvement initiatives, controls, and documentation Equity administration Administer employee equity plans including stock options, RSUs, and ESPP Manage the full grant lifecycle - issuance, vesting, exercises, and settlements Maintain accurate equity records and coordinate with transfer agents and external vendors Support SEC filings, tax reporting, and all related regulatory compliance requirements Serve as the primary point of contact for employee equity questions and communications Compliance & cross-functional partnership Ensure SOX compliance and maintain strong internal controls across both functions Support regulatory filings including W-2s, 1099s, and Form 4s Collaborate with HR, Finance, Accounting, Legal, and IT teams Provide subject matter expertise on all payroll and equity-related matters What we're looking for Required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field 6-8+ years of hands-on experience in payroll and/or equity administration Deep knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, tax compliance, and reporting requirements Direct experience administering equity compensation programs including stock options and RSUs Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail Experience with Paycor payroll software Preferred Experience in a publicly traded company with SOX exposure Familiarity with payroll and equity systems such as Paycor, E•TRADE, or Computershare CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or CEP (Certified Equity Professional) certification Who thrives here You take full ownership of your work and hold yourself to a high standard in regulated processes You partner effectively across functions and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels You don't just maintain the status quo - you actively look for ways to streamline and improve You're committed to delivering a seamless, transparent experience for employees Details:
