System Director, Payroll, Full time, Days

Responsible for the supervision and coordination of all payroll functions across the PIH Health enterprise. This includes management of bi-weekly payroll processing, calculating and remitting federal and state payroll taxes, filing quarterly payroll tax returns, staying abreast of all current federal and state payroll tax rules/regulations, interfacing with the Human Resource Dept. personnel and responsible for addressing employee questions throughout the year. Required Skills This person must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high transaction volume work environment related to bi-weekly payroll processing deadlines. The individual must have demonstrated leadership and oversight experience of running a payroll department, be highly organized and extremely detail-oriented, and have the ability to prioritize and multi-task. A strong technical payroll background is required, since this position serves as a key internal control over the accuracy of payroll data covering thousands of employees. In addition, this person is expected to be able to make recommendations to senior leadership regarding existing processes in order to improve efficiencies and strengthen internal controls.

Required Experience Required:

Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Accounting or Business Administration Minimum of ten years of progressive work experience in private industry MUST have previous experience as a Payroll Manager or Director in a medium to large company Strong communication skills with all levels within an organization Excellent computer skills, including usage of MS Excel, Word, payroll applications (Kronos)
