Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the coordination of payroll processing operations. This person will monitor workflow, team assignments, and processing deadlines. They will verify accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding, and company deductions. They will assist team members and operational leaders with resolving errors or responding to inquiries. May prepare reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses, payroll compliance, and taxes. Provides training to teams on policies, regulations, and processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and train team in the weekly/bi-weekly payroll preparation and distribution of the organization's multi-state and multi-national payroll in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policy Manage payroll-related data tables in HRIS Work closely with the HR contacts and Operations leaders to ensure the successful delivery of HR and company programs as it relates to payroll administration Responsible for payroll compliance and maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of laws, regulations, contracts, policies, procedures, and controls governing payroll operations across the region to advise depart when needed Ensure the successful processing of all off-cycle payroll distributions (e.g., bonus payments) Respond to and resolve complex payroll inquiries related to paychecks and serve as a first-level approver of all payroll processing Ensure the payroll team generates timely and accurate periodic, quarterly, and year-end tax filings with third-party vendor, including W-2s Review, and where necessary update payroll policies and procedures making recommendations and corrections when needed. Serve as backup to the Payroll Specialist, when necessary Works closely with the Sr. HR Manager to identify process gaps and make recommendations on best practices. Create SOP for payroll processes and functions
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
. 3-5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience At least 1 yr. experience leading a team Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or desire to obtain the certification; Fundamental Payroll Certification also accepted. (preferred not required) UKG or comparable payroll processing for 10000+ employees experience required. Cognos BI experience or HRIS reporting experience Knowledge of payroll tax processing and reconciliation Canadian Payroll experience (preferred)
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
BA/BS Degree (preferred) Desire to identify and implement process improvements. Must be computer literate with strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications; Must have strong communication and organizational skills that allow for superior customer service; Able to handle highly sensitive and confidential information; Work with a consistent sense of urgency but also with a strategic mindset; Able to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations; Accurate with exceptional attention to detail; Must be a team player and successfully juggle and complete multiple priorities.
