Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations with precision and enthusiasm. In this vital role, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for all employees across various departments. Your expertise in payroll management systems, accounting software, and human resources tools will drive efficiency and compliance. The Payroll Manager is responsible for the overall management of the company's accounting and financial reporting and procedures. Inclusive of payroll entry and verification of payroll entry on a weekly basis Responsibilities Responsible for weekly pay changes including, but not limited to, taxes, benefits, etc. Responsible for the weekly reconciliation of gross/net wages, state, federal, FICA and Medicare taxes as well as section 125 benefits, 401(k) and 457(b) to ensure the accurate processing of W-2's. Processes of all earnings, tax, deduction, and benefit changes to ensure accuracy of employee W-2s. Researches and resolves any payroll related matter impacting taxes. Liaise with auditor on annual tax filings, annual audits, and on other items as requested. Manages the process of updating/pushing pay and job changes from the HR forms into payroll system. Ensures all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. Reconciles payroll prior to final transmission and validates reports. Manages the accounts payable process. Oversight of accounts payable clerk. Monthly reconciliation of six (6) bank accounts. Preparation of monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow). Works closely with the benefits broker and Human Resources for weekly payroll processing as it relates to employee benefits. Assist with required payroll reports for Human Resources. Administers garnishments, including coordinating with affected employee and garnishors, as necessary in accordance with the law and applicable operating procedure. Serves as a resource for employees on any payroll related questions, including address changes, direct deposit changes, paid time off, or disability pay, tax inquiries, as well as providing assistance with Employee Self Service. Manages the administration of taxable benefits, fuel reimbursement, payment of weekly bonuses and quarterly bonuses. Coordinates with the HR team on items related to benefits, including employee changes, new hire set up, terminations, invoice processing, and vendor payments. Review processes weekly pertaining to check and/or ACH requests for garnishments, Responsible for maintaining the Record Retention Schedule as it relates to payroll and accounting files. Processes document destruction forms as required. Other projects and assignments as requested by the President.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or related area. Five or more years of experience in payroll. QuickBook experience required. Prior experience producing payrolls. Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and best payroll practices. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products. High level proficiency with EXCEL is preferred. Effective problem-solving skills, self-starter, and the ability to work well with others and with minimal supervision. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to interact professionally with employees at all levels. Must have strong customer service mindset. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information and apply discretion in the handling of that information.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
