PAYROLL MANAGER
TOWSON, MD
– up to 90K Are you a payroll expert with a passion for precision and compliance? Do you excel in managing multi-state payroll operations and navigating complex systems? Our client near the Towson, MD area is looking to hire a Payroll Manager to their team! You'll work with a supportive team in a well-established company that values its employees and fosters professional growth. This position is onsite and in office 5 days/week, but they offer a ton of flexibility with their employees.
Salary:
$75,000 – $90,000 About the
Role:
As the Payroll Manager , you'll oversee the end-to-end payroll function for a workforce of 1000+ employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Controller with dotted line to CFO, you'll handle payroll processing, tax filings, benefits administration, and more—all while playing a pivotal role in supporting the company's financial operations and employee satisfaction. The Payroll Manager will also oversee and manage two direct reports on their team!

Address payroll-related inquiries and provide guidance on regulations to employees and management. Implement and maintain payroll policies and procedures to streamline operations. Prepare analytical reports and reconcile payroll tax accounts for accurate reporting. Manage time and labor systems, assisting new hires with time-off tracking and requests. Handle final pay, severance payouts, and agency notices, and oversee unemployment and local account registrations. Contribute to audits, tax filings, and other payroll-related financial activities.
Payroll Manager Qualifications:
BS degree preferred, and open to relevant experience 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience 2+years supervisory experience Proficiency with payroll systems such as ADP, WorkDay, Paychex, etc. preferred Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and local payroll laws. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. #
