Job Description

Job Description We're partnering with a growing organization seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for a large, multi-state employee population. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll leader who enjoys managing complex payroll processes, developing teams, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end biweekly payroll processing for 1,000+ employees across multiple states Manage payroll systems, timekeeping platforms, and workforce management tools Supervise and mentor a team of payroll professionals Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations Oversee payroll deductions, garnishments, levies, and tax withholdings Process bonuses, commissions, supplemental payrolls, and off-cycle payments Support retirement plan contributions and payroll tax reconciliations Partner with third-party vendors to resolve payroll tax and employee payment issues Maintain payroll system configurations and identify process improvement opportunities Ensure compliance with internal controls, audits, and payroll procedures Prepare payroll reporting and analytics for leadership teams Collaborate with HR, Finance, Accounting, and Treasury on payroll funding and reconciliations Maintain payroll records and oversee employment verification processes
Qualifications :
15+ years of payroll experience with progressive leadership responsibilities 8+ years managing payroll operations and payroll staff Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and tax compliance Experience with payroll and HRIS systems (Dayforce experience is a plus) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor high-performing teams
