Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Director of Payroll/Workforce Technology to oversee all payroll operations, ensure regulatory compliance, manage payroll systems, and provide leadership to the Payroll Department. This role is responsible for payroll processing, tax reporting, system administration, audits, and workforce technology initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and staff performance. Oversee payroll tax compliance, reconciliations, deposits, filings, and year-end reporting, including W-2s and 941s. Maintain and optimize HR/Payroll systems, including Banner, ADP, and related payroll technologies. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax and I-9 requirements. Serve as the primary payroll liaison for audits, fiscal year-end activities, and external reporting requirements. Provide leadership for system updates, table maintenance, process improvements, and payroll-related communications.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, including tax reporting, reconciliations, and payroll compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, ADP, and other payroll or HRIS systems. Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively interact with employees at all levels. Tech-savvy with the ability to manage system updates and process improvements in a fast-paced environment.
