Job Description

This position will report to HB Global, LLC, a subsidiary of HB Global. Summary We are seeking a Payroll Systems and Compliance Manager to serve as the corporate subject matter expert for payroll operations across a multi-division organization. This role provides advisory support and governance to divisional payroll teams while ensuring compliance, consistency, and efficiency across all entities. This is a highly visible role that combines payroll expertise, Workday systems knowledge, and a strong compliance mindset. You'll partner closely with HR, Finance, HRIS, and divisional leaders to support payroll operations, improve processes, and drive best practices—while respecting a decentralized operating model. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the corporate payroll SME supporting multiple divisions Provide guidance on payroll compliance, best practices, and internal controls Act as an escalation point for complex payroll issues and multi-state scenarios Support and troubleshoot Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence Drive process improvements, standardization, and payroll governance Assist with payroll integration for acquisitions and new entities Provide training and guidance to divisional payroll teams Process payroll for select corporate entities and support special projects Education, Experience and Skills 8-10+ years of payroll experience Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll Experience with Workday Time Tracking and Absence Management Strong knowledge of payroll tax and compliance (multi-state preferred) Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-division organizations Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications CPP certification Experience with payroll systems implementations or enhancements Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time Ability to travel to various divisions and worksites as needed Why This Role High-impact, enterprise-level visibility across multiple divisions Blend of strategy, advisory, and hands-on Workday expertise Opportunity to help shape payroll standards and systems across a growing organization
