Job Description

Payroll Manager On-siteFull time Leola, Pennsylvania, United States Description Smoker & Company LLC is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead and deliver billable payroll services across a portfolio of clients. In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end clients' payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, tax calculations, and required filings. You will serve as a trusted payroll partner to clients, balancing multiple deadlines while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, client-focused, and experienced in managing multiclient, multi-jurisdiction payroll environments. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage billable work efficiently while providing excellent client service. Your goal will be to ensure that all client payrolls are processed accurately, that taxes are filed and paid on time, and that payroll procedures remain compliant, efficient, and up to date. Requirements Requirements Proven experience as a payroll manager or similar role
Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
Familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS (e.g., SAP, ADP, Kronos) and MS Office (especially Excel)
A keen eye for detail
An analytical mind and good math skills
Outstanding communication skills (written and oral)
Organizational and leadership skills Responsibilities Develop systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes, and third-party payments)
Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
Supervise and coach payroll specialists and assistants
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports
Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions
