Join our team at Health Services Consultants as our Accounting/Payroll Manager! (•Hybrid opportunity) Since 1986, our family-owned company has managed neighborhood, residential homes for adults with developmental disabilities. As the Accounting/Payroll Manager you will oversee daily accounting operations, with primary responsibility for processing biweekly payroll and month-end/quarter-end close activities. This role ensures accurate records, strong internal controls, and timely reporting, as well as supervising transactional accounting staff under the direction of the CFO. •Hybrid role based in Champaign, IL, involving a mix of on-site and remote work.
Job duties include:
Payroll processing (Primary Responsibility) Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close Supervise and support AP, AR, and Purchasing staff Internal controls, compliance, and documentation Collaboration and reporting Leadership functions and other duties as assigned, in support of the Finance team
Requirements:
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience Hands-on experience processing payroll, payroll systems, and Excel Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, payroll accounting and accruals, and balance sheet reconciliation Experience with month-end/quarter-end close ownership Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred or equivalent experience required Experience supervising or leading accounting staff preferred Familiarity with ERP systems preferred Valid, unexpired driver's license preferred Hybrid role based in Champaign, IL, involving a mix of on-site and remote work.
