Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee all payroll operations for 700+ employees. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, advanced knowledge of multi-state payroll processing. As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing all payroll functions, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records.
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all aspects of the payroll process, including payroll calculations, tax withholdings, and deductions. Lead and supervise the payroll team, providing guidance and support as needed. Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Review and approve payroll data entry for accuracy and completeness. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Prepare payroll reports for management and external auditors as needed. Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee data changes. Resolve payroll-related issues and inquiries from employees in a timely manner. Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations and communicate updates to the team. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate recording of payroll transactions. Perform regular audits of payroll records to identify and correct discrepancies. Provide training and support to payroll staff on payroll software and procedures. Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas. Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations. Excellent leadership and management skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Payroll (e.g., CPP, FPC). Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex).
