Payroll Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Rochester, New York. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee payroll operations for a non-profit organization while contributing to a high-impact environment. The position is ideal for candidates who thrive in dynamic settings and are passionate about ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processes. While hybrid work arrangements are preferred, flexible remote options may be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Manage biweekly payroll processing for approximately 470 employees, including 350 hourly staff, using Paylocity.
• Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll regulations and taxation laws.
• Oversee day-to-day payroll operations and address any payroll-related inquiries or issues.
• Support implementation tasks, including data validation, migration analysis, report creation, and payroll auditing.
• Collaborate closely with consultants and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth payroll transitions.
• Provide guidance and expertise on payroll-related matters to internal stakeholders.
• Monitor payroll systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of payroll data for internal and external purposes.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll data at all times. Requirements
• Extensive experience in full-cycle payroll management, preferably at a senior or managerial level.
• Proficiency in handling payroll for organizations with over 500 employees.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and taxation laws.
• Experience with Paylocity is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with payroll system implementations and data migration processes.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid or remote environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with consultants and team members.
