Payroll Manager (with Accounting Support)
Location:
Los Angeles (hybrid) 2-4's onsite a month
Industry:
Nonprofit / EducationA nonprofit school is seeking a Payroll Manager with some Staff Accountant responsibilities. This role partners with the Controller, HR, and CFOO to ensure accurate payroll and support key accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
Own full-cycle payroll (timecards, taxes, benefits, 403b, garnishments)Ensure compliance with CA/federal payroll lawsReconcile payroll, benefits, and retirement contributionsPrepare payroll JE's and support month-end closeAssist with audits, reporting, and accounting projectsAct as main point of contact for payroll inquiries
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or similar5+ years accounting + 2-3+ years payrollStrong payroll compliance knowledgePaylocity strongly preferred
