As a Payroll Processor reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing analytical and customer service support for various payroll initiatives, including wage garnishments. The person filling this role must be knowledgeable in payroll practices and regulations. You will be eligible for a hybrid schedule with Monday through Wednesday in Kinder Morgan's downtown Houston office and Thursday and Friday being remote-work days. Key Responsibilities Process multi-state, bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule Administer payroll activities related to new hires, transfers, terminations, and pay rate changes Oversee and administer wage garnishments, including calculations, processing, and refunds Enter, verify, and maintain direct deposit information and federal, state, and local tax withholding elections Calculate and process manual checks for retro pay, missing time, additional earnings, and garnishment refunds Review and audit timesheets and payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance Research and respond to employee payroll questions in a timely and professional manner Provide excellent customer service to employees, HR partners, and managers via email and phone Assist with the development and maintenance of payroll process documentation Serve as a backup to other payroll team members as needed Participate in special projects and perform other payroll-related duties as assigned Maintain a strong commitment to personal and workplace safety
