Payroll & Benefits Manager Office Location Gonzales Office 825 E Sarah DeWitt Dr Gonzales, Texas 78629 What We Are Looking For GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of Payroll & Benefits Manager to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As a Payroll & Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for administering GVEC's benefit and retirement programs in addition to the timely and accurate processing of payroll for all employees. Your Pay The minimum starting pay for this role is $73,000 per year plus bonuses that are tied to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually. Pay will be determined by skills, qualifications and experience. How You'll Help Facilitate Open Enrollment, ensuring accuracy with plan documents, carrier connections, billing and enrollments Maintain benefit-related processes within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Coordinate FMLA and Return-to-Work processes, and manage and reconcile employee time-off records Oversee the GVEC Employee Tuition Reimbursement and Lighting the Way Scholarship Programs Serve and support retirees and coordinate retiree events Support employees through life-event changes by providing guidance on benefit options and eligibility Administer and support retirement savings plans including employee education, contributions and vendor coordination Process payroll on a biweekly and monthly basis, and as needed Manage and submit all payroll tax filings, including scheduled payments and quarterly payroll tax reports Prepare and distribute W2 information and annual Total Compensation Statements Ensure organizational compliance with federal and local regulations Coordinate, compile and provide supporting information to auditors for payroll and benefit audits Prepare content for various business communication pieces Work closely with the HR team to brainstorm topics, develop strategies and assist with other activities and projects, as needed Experience/Skills You'll Need Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and confidently Effective problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting minor issues independently Ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic. Able to work independently with impeccable sense of integrity Team player with the resolve to provide and take constructive criticism that helps evolve the team Exceptional analytical thinking skills Exudes an engaging and hospitable demeanor Willing to improve processes through new ideas, procedures and efficiencies Local travel to company worksites during business hours and some evenings will be required Preferred Experience/Skills Advanced education or functional experience in Human Resources is preferred Knowledge of federal regulations in reference to payroll and benefits programs Proficiency with a variety of software tools such as - Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Payroll experience with basic knowledge of accounting Experience with organizational communication and writing HRIS experience Our Purpose and Culture GVEC proudly provides Electric, Internet, HVAC, Solar and Battery Storage, and Electrician services in and around South-Central Texas.
