Job Description
Payroll Manager Position Summary :
The Payroll Manager leads end-to-end payroll operations for MCHS and ProCare, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal policies and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements. This is a working manager role that performs and reviews key payroll activities (including audits, reconciliations, and approvals) while providing day-to-day leadership to the payroll function. The role partners closely with Finance and Human Resources to maintain strong internal controls, deliver responsive employee service, and drive continuous improvement across payroll processes and systems.Education:
Bachelor s degree in a business-related field required.Training and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in a hospital setting with 24/7 staffing and complex shift differentials strongly preferred. Professional affiliation such as PayrollOrg (PAYO) preferred; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) strongly preferred.Job Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles (GAAP).Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions :
A. Prolonged sitting and prolonged VDT (Video Display Terminal) exposure. B. Possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases. C. Standard office setting with various noise levels. D. Regular interaction with hospital departments. E. May require lifting up to 25 pounds, prolonged sitting or standing, and repetitive motions. F. Typing on a keyboard and looking at a computer screen for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more per day. G. May require occasional overtime during peak financial periods.Similar remote jobs
