Job Description:
Payroll Manager (end-to-end payroll operations): Hybrid in Garland, TX - 3 days onsite Optomi, in partnership with a leading distributor of wireless voice, data, and video solutions, is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll operations for a mid-sized organization supporting 2,000-2,500 employees across the United States and Canada. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing, with a strong emphasis on multi-jurisdictional payroll tax and prevailing wage requirements. Right Candidate Will Have:
7+ years of progressive payroll experience Experience managing payroll for mid-sized organizations (2,000+ employees preferred) Proven experience processing payroll for both the US and Canada Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance across multiple jurisdictions Experience working directly with US and Canadian tax agencies Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements Experience leading or supervising payroll teams Proficiency with modern payroll systems (ADP, Workday, UKG, Dayforce, etc.) Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end payroll processing for 2,000-2,500 employees across the US and Canada Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local payroll regulations Oversee payroll tax administration, reconciliations, and year-end processing Serve as primary liaison with US and Canadian tax agencies Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and controls Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to ensure data accuracy Lead and mentor a small payroll team Drive process improvements and system efficiencies Maintain confidentiality and data integrity
